The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is from $38.00 to $42.00 hourly. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
We are looking for full-time Central Office Authorization Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Central Office Authorization Coordinator to oversee authorization processes and operations across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely submission and follow-up insurance authorizations, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and best practices for authorization requests and denials management.
- Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to optimize patient admissions and reduce authorization-related delays.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to authorization turnaround times, denials, and appeals.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facility regulations.
- Train and mentor staff on authorization protocols, policy updates, and regulatory changes.
- Analyze trends and data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior leadership on authorization activities and challenges.
- Possible travel to facilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare authorization or case management, preferably in skilled nursing or post-acute care setting.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance authorization processes, managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations specific to California.
- Proficient with EHR - electronic health record systems and authorization management software.
- Strong understanding of SNF operational workflows and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and other state-specific payer programs.
- Certification in healthcare authorization, case management, or healthcare compliance.
